Tommy was born and grew up in Baltimore. He came to Christ later in life while raising his son, Kerry, with his wife Rhea. In 1989 he made the decision to follow Christ after being invited by family friends to a Bible preaching church in Columbia, MD. As a family, they made the decision to follow Christ and were baptized.

His wife, Rhea, was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Columbia, MD. They met at a party after a rival high school football game in 1979. They married in 1985.

Tommy and Rhea have been attending Bethany since 2018. Tommy has served as an elder at Bethany since 2021. In addition, he leads the Welcome Team of Ushers and Greeters and a Life Group.

Tommy and Rhea live in Elkridge. Tommy is a retired federal worker and works as a contractor for the government. Rhea is retired from the Howard County school system. Tommy loves bowling and enjoys cruise vacationing with Rhea.
