Dennis Allen

Associate Pastor

Dennis was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. After graduating in 1985 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he married his wife, Christine, and moved to Maryland to begin a career with the Department of Defense. Together they have two adult children and one grandson.

Dennis’ journey of faith began in an unexpected way. When his seven-year-old daughter asked him if there was a God, he realized he didn’t have an answer. Having never read the Bible or attended church, he reached out to a Christian friend for guidance. What followed was a season of deep searching—countless questions, hours of Bible reading, and many honest conversations.

At the age of 32, Dennis surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Not long after coming to faith, Dennis sensed God’s call into ministry. He stepped away from his engineering career, earned his degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has since faithfully served in a variety of roles, including Youth Minister and Executive Pastor. He has been serving as Associate Pastor at Bethany Church since 2019.

Dennis and Christine live in Ellicott City, where they enjoy life alongside their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. When he’s not serving the church, Dennis enjoys woodworking, traveling, and testing his driving skills on autocross courses—where, by his own admission, a few traffic cones occasionally fall victim to enthusiasm.
